ABOUT MARTA
Marta is a gifted, passionate, and highly experienced teacher and student of Yoga and the Non-Duality path of Advaita Vedanta. She first discovered Yoga when 14 years old, and right away felt the mysterious familiarity of the practice. However it wasn't until recovering from addiction that she truly sought the depths of Yoga and began to explore its full capacity to awaken one from the deep sleep of fear-based consciousness. Curiosity quickly turned into an all-life immersion when Marta found herself living in India, in full devotion to her healing (r)evolution.
Marta was certified as a Yoga instructor at a traditional school in India. This was also where she met her spiritual teacher, with decades of monastery time and Vedic studies. She spent time at various ashrams and has undertaken numerous meditation retreats, including the silent Goenka Vipassana. Since, Marta has taught at diverse centers in Europe, Asia, and South America and spent a few years serving as a 200hr Yoga Teacher Trainer in India.
Marta's own journey of trauma integration and rediscovering the importance of embodiment has led her to undergo a plethora of mind-body trainings. From learning with Dr. Peter Levine, to Polyvagal Theory and Practice, Neurosomatic Mindfulness, Breathwork, Traditional Chinese Medicine and beyond, Marta is an explorer of the psychosomatic nature of health and illness. The synergy of these mind-body approaches with the shamanic understanding of vitality is something that Marta finds fascinating and ever inspiring, nudging her to keep coming home to her own body.
Over the past 12 years, Marta has been deeply immersed in her studies of the plant medicine healing traditions of the Americas. She had the opportunity to learn under the guidance of shamans and wisdom keepers from many lineages and communities - the Shipibo and Mestizo in the Amazon, the Q'eros in the Andes, Kogi in Colombia, Mexica in Mexico, Lakota in North America and beyond. Her studies across diverse traditions devoted to understanding both our human physicality and the pathways to Spirit have led her to understand that all paths are complementary, and ultimately lead to the very same realization of Unity.
She is deeply grateful to all of her teachers, past and present, human and non-human, for shining their light under her stumbling feet.
Marta's memoir, Miracles from the Abyss, was published in early 2021. It has been widely received with gratitude for serving as a raw honest mirror of the human experience. The outpouring of messages from readers all over the globe solidified Marta's knowing of her dharma in this lifetime - 'helping people remember who they are truly here to be.'
Marta is a mother and together with her family lives in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Peru, gratefully awaiting the arrival of her second child towards the end of 2024.
